Lauren & Julia

Lauren and Julia's wedding was full of warmth and easy joy, the kind of day that never needed staging. Their affection for each other carried the whole room, from a first look full of nerves to a dance floor that never emptied. We could not get enough of the small in between moments, and the laughter that runs all the way through this film.

their story

The wedding that started it all.

Lauren and Julia hold a special place in the For Keeps story. They were our very first couple. We met them at a vendor mixer a year before their wedding, and after talking about a vision for wedding films that felt candid and authentic, like a real home movie, they took a chance on us. They became our first clients and our biggest supporters.

Their wedding was at the Piedmont Room at Park Tavern in Atlanta. The same venue where my wife and I were married. Filming there felt like coming home. The room has soft natural light, an easy elegance, and views over Piedmont Park that make every wide shot feel like a memory in progress.

We filmed Lauren and Julia's day with the same approach we've used ever since. Documentary first. Every speech, every vow, the full ceremony, interviews with their guests, and all the little glances and laughs in between. The film moves at the pace the day actually moved, not the pace of a music drop.

Years later, Lauren and Julia still tell us they catch moments in the film they had forgotten or missed entirely. That is exactly what a For Keeps wedding film is meant to do.

The Sound of the Day

Heard, not just seen.

Most wedding films are scored. Yours is heard. We capture the day live, so years from now you don't only see it, you hear it again exactly as it was.

The vows, in full

[A line from Lauren and Julia's vows, or leave the evergreen copy: "Every word, kept the way it was spoken."]

The vows, in full

The speeches, the laughter, the shake in a voice. All of it, start to finish.

The room itself

Ambient sound from the day, so the film feels like being there again.

FROM BRIEF TO FILM

Every For Keeps film starts with a conversation. Here is what Lauren and Julia asked us for, and what we delivered.

What they wanted, what we made.

What they wanted

The brief from day one

Lauren and Julia came to us wanting a wedding film that felt candid and honest, like a real home movie rather than a polished highlight reel. They asked us to keep the whole day the way it actually felt, the small glances as much as the big moments.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Piedmont Room at Park Tavern is one of our favorite venues in Atlanta. Soft natural light pours in through the large windows, the views over Piedmont Park give every wide shot a sense of place, and the room itself has an easy, lived-in elegance that suits a documentary-style film perfectly. Plus, on a personal note, it is the same venue where my wife and I were married. So every shoot there feels a little bit like home.

  • Yes. We film often in Midtown Atlanta, including Park Tavern, the Botanical Garden, and venues around Piedmont Park. We also cover weddings across Atlanta, Decatur, Buckhead, Chateau Elan, and all over Georgia. We travel for destination weddings too, with flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees.

  • Lauren and Julia's film captures the full day documentary style. Every speech, every vow, the full ceremony, and lots of small moments in between. The Piedmont Room's natural light makes for warm, golden footage during the day, and the room transforms beautifully into a soft, glowing space once the evening lighting takes over. The result feels less like a wedding video and more like a memory.

  • We shot the full day on modern 4K digital with professional audio captured live, paired with selected moments on real Kodak Super 8 film. The combination gives the film a clean, complete documentary backbone with the warm grain of analog for the most emotional moments.

  • A full For Keeps documentary usually runs 2 to 4 hours. Lauren and Julia's film is around [runtime], designed to be watched start to finish, like a real home movie. We also delivered a shorter highlight cut for casual rewatching.
